Toby is my 8 year old Papillon. He injured his back last night and can't walk -- emergency vet seems to think that meds and cage rest will help him out. I really hope so.
He did this once before with major surgery required for him to walk again.

I am a former Dachshund breeder. I have had several doxies with similar back problems in the more than 30 yrs I have had doxies. I have never had surgery on any of them. One of my current girls, Lexi, is 14 yrs old and did great after cage rest and meds a few yrs ago. Also, acupuncture helped a couple of my dogs. There are a lot of vets doing it these days.
Thank you Nancy -- Toby did do MAJOR damage to his back 3 years ago that did require surgery. This time is not so bad and he is on cage rest and meds. I am looking for someone local who does accupuncture too. gotta love these furry kids.
